ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਦੋ ਮੁੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ – ਹਾਰਡਵੇਅਰ (Hardware) ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ (Software)।

ਇਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ? (Relationship): ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਸਮਝੋ। ਹਾਰਡਵੇਅਰ 'ਸਰੀਰ' ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ 'ਰੂਹ' (ਦਿਮਾਗ) ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰੂਹ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਰੂਹ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਨ।

A computer works with two main parts – Hardware and Software.

Relationship: Think of it like a human. Hardware is the 'Body' and Software is the 'Soul' or 'Brain'. Just as a body cannot function without a soul, hardware cannot work without software.

ਹਾਰਡਵੇਅਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਭਾਗ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਛੂਹ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ 4 ਮੁੱਖ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਹਨ:

Hardware refers to all physical parts that we can see and touch. It has 4 main types:

ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ (Programs) ਦਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।

ਇਸਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।	ਇਸਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।	ਇਹ ਰੂਹ/ਦਿਮਾਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।
